Our law firm has had the honor and pleasure to serve as General Counsel to Meyer C. Weiner Company for many years.

Before we were so engaged, I had many business and personal encounters with Josh Weiner and Tim Timmons. They were unfailingly professional, courteous, ethical and personally engaging, all in the context of building and managing a successful and dynamic enterprise. To be invited to serve as their legal arm and counselor was the greatest professional compliment that I could imagine.

As I became directly involved in their inside dealings, I saw an even greater devotion to accomplishing great things and surrounding themselves with high quality staff personnel to whom they are very loyal and who they have directed on the same paths of achievement and ethical business practices. Everyone with whom they deal, from the largest national retailers, banks and other lenders to the small local tenants in their shopping centers, know that they are going to deliver exactly what they promise and will never waiver from their commitments.

The Kalamazoo community has benefited enormously from the new projects and the redevelopment projects that they have built. Josh Weiner is a pillar of success and rectitude and when Tim Timmons has been called upon to to lead the effort there has been a seamless march to the finish line. Anyone who has the opportunity to work in their orbit should seize it and consider themselves very lucky.

Josh and I go back a long way, in fact, all the way back to early 1981 when I was a sophomore at Western Michigan University.  During that summer, Josh and the Meyer C. Weiner Compnay gave me the opportunity that I will never forget.  I went knocking on doors to selling land and leasing projects in Grand Rapids, Muskegon, Kalmazoo, and Benton Township, MI.  In addition, and most amazingly, Josh trusted me with helping to plan a vision for the San Diego Waterfront with a value in excess of $365,000,000.  All of this happened before I graduated from college.

Because of their counsel, I earned a Masters in Real Estate from The Meyer C. Weiner Company, and became the yougest person hired by the premiere real estate developer in the country.

The entrepreneurial spirit that I learned at a young age helped me branch off on my own in 1991, and I have never looked back.  Today, Josh and I remain like brothers, and in fact, in 2003 we began our first major project together in 20 years, which will become one of the finest entertainment/retail projects of its kind in the country.

I am indebted to the Meyer C. Weiner Company for all of my successes and look forward to a continued friendship and business relationship.
