Eat Drink Give will be held on Friday, April 17, 2020 at The Radisson Plaza Hotel with doors opening at 7:00 PM. This annual event brings hundreds of guests together to enjoy a memorable evening filled with food, drinks, music, and fun. In 1989, trustees of the Irving S. Gilmore Foundation of Kalamazoo, Michigan, announced plans to honor the memory of Irving S. Gilmore, a local businessman and philanthropist, by creating some of the most unique and significant awards for pianists anywhere in the world and a biennial piano festival to celebrate keyboard music.

Kalamazoo Promise
The Kalamazoo Promise is a pledge by a group of anonymous donors to pay up to 100 percent of tuition at any of Michigan's state colleges or universities for graduates of the public high schools of Kalamazoo, Michigan. To receive the minimum 65% benefit, students must have lived within the Kalamazoo School District, attended public high school there for four years, and graduated. To receive a full scholarship, students must have attended Kalamazoo public schools since kindergarten.

Gryphon Place's 6th annual Suicide Prevention Walk will be held during Suicide Prevention Month on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Arcadia Creek Festival Place in downtown Kalamazoo. This 5K cause walk will raise awareness for suicide prevention, allow people to connect with each other, and provide critical funds for Gryphon Place - 100% of the community-raised dollars stay here in the community, supporting the local programs and services we offer. We will be there, supporting suicide prevention one step at a time, and we would love for you to join us.
Day-of registration begins at 8 AM, remarks begin at 9 AM with the walk beginning afterwards. Kids and friendly, leashed dogs are welcome.

The Class of 2018 will feature the legends of Portage Public Schools Musical Theater and Forensics. James Menchinger, Katherine Mulay, and Laurel Scheidt created magical shows, won state championships, and launched successful careers of many PPS students. Along with Spotlight Award winners we will celebrate the wonderful careers of all those PPS teachers and staff that will be retiring in 2018. Since 1958, Big Brothers Big Sisters, A Community of Caring has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (Bigs) and children (Littles), ages 6 through 18, in Kalamazoo, Allegan, Calhoun, and Van Buren counties. The financial support of hundreds of donors makes it possible for the agency to professionally match and professionally support Bigs, Littles and their families through the life of the match. This leads to positive friendships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people.
