Matthew J. McDade has been a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo and is a graduate of Portage Northern High School. He holds a BBA and MBA in finance from Western Michigan University. Matthew began a 20-year career in banking as a commercial lender for First of America Bank, specializing in small business and middle market lending. He also previously held commercial lending positions in Kalamazoo with Michigan National Bank, National City Bank and Shoreline Bank. In 1999, Matthew became the Community Bank President for Republic Bank in Kalamazoo. As one of eight bank presidents for Republic Bank, Matthew managed the western Michigan operation for the bank specializing in commercial real estate financing.
In 2008, Matthew formed McDade Capital, which provided debt and equity placement, loan restructuring, and business operations consulting for commercial real estate investors and business owners throughout the Midwest. McDade Capital continues to provide equity placement for new commercial real estate developments, property acquisitions, early stage companies, and business succession financing. In 2015, Matthew joined the Meyer C. Weiner Co. in a newly formed position of Chief Operating Officer to oversee all aspects of the real estate development company operations, which consists of approximately 50 properties of prime retail, mixed use development, office space, and multi-family residential properties with a concentration on retail shopping centers located within southwest Michigan. In 2016, Matthew was named a Partner in the company where he now assists and supports the CEO/Owner in establishing development plans and the overall direction of the Company. Matthew is a licensed real estate salesperson and holds the Certified Shopping Center Manager designation with the International Council of Shopping Centers. Matthew is the past-president and current treasurer of the Kalamazoo Country Club Board of Governors, member of the Kalamazoo Rotary Club, and an active fundraiser for various Kalamazoo area non-profits. He is married to his wife of 20+ years, Michelle McDade and they have four children together. |
