Pope Julius II asked Michelangelo many times during the painting of the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in the early 1500’s, “When will you be done?” Michelangelo’s answer during those four years of creating the most famous frescoes in the world was always the same, “When I am finished.”
While our work is not a renowned masterpiece, our properties are treated with care, our colleagues are given respect and appreciation and our tenants are recognized for the value that they bring to our portfolio. And, like Michelangelo, we are never really finished.
This past year’s challenges have reinforced our commitment to our core principles of performance with integrity and our passion to improve is still there, perhaps even heightened. As our imperative remains the health and safety of our coworkers and their families, the financial well being of our properties is our goal even as we work remotely. We are thankful for the technology available to us and for the flexibility and dedication of our team.
The fight against hate and intolerance also continues. The support for community, compromise, understanding and tolerance goes on.
We are not finished. I hope we never are!
